Who is Monica?

PSYD / Certified Wellness and Health Coach

Monica Villalba is a nationwide Wellcoach certified health coach and owner of Mindful Wellness. Over the past 20 years, Monica has held positions in social work and health care. Specifically, she has provided health and life coaching to clients across the United States and in Colombia, her native country. During the last year, she has trained hundreds of individuals in areas such as breathing techniques, and meditation to help with anxiety, strategies for learning new habits that replace unhealthy habits. Monica is passionate, trustworthy, and has been a reliable health coach for all of her clients over the years. She enjoys getting to know her clients and is curious about their goals. She supports their way of making changes based on their level of readiness.  As an experienced wellness coach, she has the ability to use different approaches including Motivational Interviewing, Client-Centered-Therapy, connect deeply with people to help them recognize their abilities and strengths since each client is an expert on their life to work on their goals, encouraging them to use adaptive positive thinking strategies and mindfulness techniques. Monica is bilingual and has provided face to face coaching to Spanish speaking clients in a primary health care setting as well as via phone and video across the United States.

What is the typical process for working with a new client?

A session is scheduled to be delivered by phone call or secure video call in the comfort of your home or office at the time that is more convenient to you.

What you can expect during your first session?

Introduction to the benefits and explanation of how the session works and answer questions. Based on your needs you will work in partnership to decide what are your priorities, setting goals, make the action plan, and overcome barriers.

How does Mindful Wellness protect my information and confidentiality?

All the sessions will be secure and confidentiality is guaranteed by HIPAA compliant.

How should customers know about your pricing (Discounts, fee)

There are different packages based on how long the sessions will take. A sliding scale is available. A bill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if it is under your coverage plan.

Does remote coaching work as effectively as a session in person?

Remote coaching sessions have been proved to be very effective, sometimes more effective as a session in person. High quality and the best care standard are the priorities.

How long can you have coaching sessions and experience changes?

It would be determined during the first session based on your personal needs and desires. Coaching sessions are very effective. You can experience changes from the first session. It might take between 6 – 12 sessions to identify your priorities, setting up goals, and developing the action plan. The coaching sessions will be longer or not depending on the readiness of change.

How does the coaching session help me?

Coaches are relationship builders. You will have a trusted and qualified partner to work with who has more than 20 years of experience helping people to identify their strengths, and skills to work on their goals so at the end of the treatment they have their own toolkit to use as needed to continue working on their habits and new life routines.

What is the goal of the coaching session?

Since it’s a cheerful, positive, friendly, and safe environment to share thoughts, opinions, dreams, goals, fears, and challenges. You will receive support and guidance in a Non-judgemental environment to recognize and overcome barriers and challenges that prevent you from enjoying your physical and emotional life.
